Financing Your Education- MBA Passport Students

Students enrolled under the Passport Application process may take advantage of alternative, private loans to finance their tuition while completing the full application and admittance process. Private Alternative Loans are loans that assist students who are classified as "non-degree" before being officially admitted to a degree program. Once fully admitted, students may participate in federal student loan and financial aid programs. If you are an MBA student enrolled under the Passport Application process, Private Alternative Loans are a great way to finance your foundation course work.

Private Alternative Loans are credit-based loans, often require cosigners, and cannot be consolidated in a federal consolidation loan with federal student loans.

It is important to research and shop around for the best loan product when it comes to these alternative loans. This is much more important than with the federal loans because these are not federally-backed and may not have interest rate caps. Remember - read carefully and borrow wisely!

Private Alternative Loans provide the best financial options to students with the maximum in flexibility and service. For information about private student loans, click here.

Contact one of the following private lenders directly online to begin the loan application process. Remember, the choice of lender is your decision to make and we will honor your request.

The Project on Student Loan Debt site (www.projectonstudentdebt.org) contains valuable information concerning student loans, especially their Questions to Ask About Private Loans page ( www.projectonstudentdebt.org/private_loan_questions.vp.html).

Our Financial Aid office is here to help you and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 303-458-4126 or 800-568-8932 or e-mail enrolsvc@regis.edu.

We also recommend that you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid ( www.fafsa.ed.gov) (FAFSA) to apply for federal loans when you are admitted to your MBA degree program.

Financing Your Education- MBA Admitted Students

The Regis University Office of Financial Aid strives to help as many Regis students as funds permit. Most awards are based on financial need; however, a limited amount of assistance is available to students without need. Typically, half-time enrollment (6 credit hours per semester) is required to qualify for financial aid.

General types of college financial aid include: Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (SEOG), Colorado Student Grant, and Federal Subsidized loans. In order to receive Financial Aid at Regis University you must:

  • Be a degree-seeking student fully admitted to the MBA program
  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Complete and send the free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You may obtain the application online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. If additional forms are required, you will be notified. For more assistance with financial aid, contact the college's Office of Financial Aid at 303-458-4126 or 800-568-8932 or visit www.regis.edu/financialaid

    • If your employer has a direct billing agreement with Regis University, you may qualify for direct billing to your sponsoring organization.
    • Consult your employer to determine if a direct billing agreement has been established with Regis University.
    • If one has been established, you need a "Tuition Voucher", “Letter of Credit”, or “Billing Authorization” from your employer which includes your name, social security number, course title(s), tuition amount covered by sponsor for each course, name and address where the bill should be sent.

    • It is the responsibility of the student to obtain a Tuition Voucher, Letter of Credit, or Billing Authorization from your employer for each course and ensure that it is received at the Office of Student Accounts, by the tuition due date.

Regis University is pleased to assist employees and sponsors by directly billing tuition costs to the sponsor.

Please note: Some sponsoring organizations require grades and/or course completion prior to payment. Payment may not be dependent upon receipt of grades or successful completion of the course, therefore, the Sponsored Billing option is not available for those organizations. Instead, a student may pay the tuition or use the Tuition Deferment with a fee and get reimbursed by his or her sponsor when the course is completed. Also, Regis University reserves the right to deny a sponsored billing arrangement to a student whose account is in arrears or has been referred to an agency for collection.

Organizations wishing to be billed directly for their employee's tuition may arrange to do so through a tuition voucher.

A proposed tuition voucher must include:

    • Student's name
    • Social security number
    • Regis ID #
    • Course title and code
    • Course dates
    • Dollar amount authorized for billing
    • A statement guaranteeing payment within 30 days of receipt of the invoice regardless of course completion or receipt of grades. Some sponsors require the signature of the student on their forms. If this is the case, Regis University will not process the voucher unless the signature is present.

The proposed tuition voucher should be mailed to:
    Regis University
    Attn:  Corporate Billing Office
    3333 Regis Boulevard A-8
    Denver, CO 80221-1099

    Or faxed to 303-964-5418
    Or e-mailed to corpbill@regis.edu

The voucher will be processed immediately after the add/drop date, and the sponsoring organization must pay the amount due within 30 days.

If vouchers are not submitted by the tuition due date, students must pay tuition in full or use the Tuition Deferment with a fee option pending acceptance of the agreement.
