Regis University MBA Program Prerequisites
Required foundation courses present the basic business background needed by a MBA student. These courses are:
- Financial Accounting
- Managerial/Cost Accounting
- Business/Corporate Finance
- Business Statistics
- Marketing
If you have successfully completed the foundation courses (C- or better) and they are on your undergraduate transcript, foundation courses may be waived. If you have not previously completed courses at the undergraduate level, you may meet the foundation requirements in a variety of ways:
- Taking accelerated 5- and 8-week adult undergraduate courses through Regis University's College for Professional Studies, passing with a grade of C- or better.
- AC320A Principles of Accounting I (8-week)*
- AC320B Principles of Accounting II (8-week)*
- FIN400 Business Finance (8-week)
- MKT325 Marketing Principles (5-week)
- MT270 Introduction to Statistics (5-week)
- Tests such as CLEP or DANTES (see your enrollment counselor first).
- Prior Learning Assessment/Portfolio (ED202) (see your enrollment counselor first).
- Taking accelerated 8-week 500-level Essentials of Business Development (MBAP 520A and 520B**), passing with a grade of C or better. MBAP520A and 520B are recommended for students who have extensive experience in business or management - five years or more – that entailed management decisions and exposure to financial reports and accounts. For example, someone may have run his or her own business for several years, keeping records and dealing with accountants and taxes, or he or she may have worked in a bookkeeping or tax preparation role.
* AC325 Accounting Principles and Management Concepts (8-week and 4 credit hours) may be substituted for AC 320A and 320B but it is not recommended for the MBA Finance and Accounting Specialization.
**Both MBAP520A and 520B are offered fully online or in a blended format, combining both classroom-based and online course requirements.
